Parent Conferences

Wednesday and Thursday next week are opening conferences. We have some new policies in place for the upcoming school year. 

When you come, watch for information on new lunch routines and expectations, new school times (pm),  student code of conduct, parent council, signing up for remind with Mrs Palmer and bus contact, ordering milk tickets using cash online, as well as how to sign up and register for the cash online program.

As always you will also have community walk permission, updated medical information, as well as consent for family life, internet usage, acceptable use agreement, and print and digital medial release.

Where did summer go?

August is coming to an end and school is just around the corner.  The classroom is ready, plans are in place, and soon the students will arrive.  Something a bit different this year.  After teaching a straight 5 for the last several years, this year I will be teaching grades 4s and 5s.  While my class this year will all be new to me, next year I will have returning students.  Looking forward to this change.
One last weekend in front of us and then it begins.

September 19, 2017

A new school year.
We started our day with room 12 chatter and then we worked on a math problem.
We do our lunch attendance on the smart board.
In Gym we had time with free equipment and we played a game.
In French we are working on a Detective puzzle.
In Theme, we are planning to discover our islands.  We have to plan what we are going to take.  We also have to think about whether it will fit in our sea chest.  Some of us have finished colouring our island maps.

May 19

Today we did a work sheet in math.
In writing we edited our stuff we were writing.
In french we did are videos for our houses.
In theme we kept working on our paper skeleton.
No school Monday.  :-D

May 17

We started our day by doing math. In math we did some fractions.  We learned about how to compare using two fractions. In gym, we played a game  to practice for the baseball game. We played in two teams.  But when they pitched it to you had to kick it.  We continued to work on our I am a Winnipeger and Zoo writing.
MARY RETURNED!!! She taught us about water. It is the last time were going to see her this year.
We started a writing about our grade five memories.  In music we played on the drums. We played a game where we need to communicate just using the drums.

May 15

At school today in first period we had bus ridership we talked about bus safety rules like do not distract the bus driver and do not go into the danger zone outside the bus.  We had a short gym class, then we had class meeting.  In the class meeting we had to tell someone about what we were thankful for or something we what to change.  When it was writing we worked more about our  I am a Winnipeger poems.   It's about what we like and do in Winnipeg.  In french today we worked more on our french house and glued it onto paper.  During theme we corrected our answers in our body system booklets.

May 12

Today in gym we played a game called Yoshi and no one won in the game we played.
Our class is participating in a time capsule and 2 students talked about what we will put in the time capsule and we are probably put a book in the time capsule. In french we continued  to colour our house and soon we will share our house with the class.  We will  have to say what is in our house in french.  In theme we watched the skeletal and respiration system's presentation.  They were the last to do there presentation and we watched a movie trailer from the two groups like the others and like always we did a booklet on the systems after the presentation. After recess we continued on the booklet. Then we did our agendas and our teacher read to us.
